Concierge Sports Medicine FAQ

After you register, you will receive your membership agreement and privacy documents through our electronic health records platform.

What exactly is this?

Care coordination for the active individual. We are providing a team of Licensed Athletic Trainers (AT) who are specialists in the care, prevention and treatment of injuries and illness backed by our supervising physician, Dr. Jason Mogonye, a primary care sports medicine physician. With this service you can call any time you feel something that doesn’t feel right coming on, injury or illness, or when you just need some advice on preventative exercises for the sport you perform. ATs answer your calls to provide the care you need. If it requires a visit with the MD, we will connect you at the next available tele-health appointment slot.

The medical industry is not always capable of serving the needs of Western Sports when we need them. So here we are to serve as your care coordinator to get you the help you need, wherever you are.

Member Benefits
  • Unlimited phone consultations with a licensed Athletic Trainer.

  • Care coordination and referrals to specialists and care centers across the continental U.S.
  • Help with medication while you travel, where permitted by law and prescribed by a physician who has evaluated you.
  • One in-office athletic training session each month at REPTD in San Antonio when you are in town.
  • Expert injury and illness guidance.

Physician visits and prescribing depend on your location and licensing rules and may not be available in every state.

I don’t live in Texas or near DFW so why should I join?

If you reside outside of Texas, in the continental US, we will answer your call and provide all we can provide with our Athletic Trainers. That is what your membership gets you: care coordination and virtual support. Televisits with the physician will be added to states outside of Texas as the need arises and we have enough members in a particular state.

There is a lot we can do virtually to keep you going down the road to your next stop. The need we most often hear from Western Athletes is the ability to call a team they trust to help guide them. Care coordination and virtual support. So it does not matter where you live, we are here to help you. Say you live in Texas but are competing in Idaho and have an illness or injury that cannot wait to be cared for when you get home. Call the hotline and we will get you the information for the nearest hospital, clinic or specialist we know that can serve you.

My spouse and kids travel with me. What's the cost to manage us all?

So what does the membership cover?

Your membership covers the care coordination but not any other services or charges provided by medical professionals. We are guiding your care. If you see Dr. Mogonye or one of our Athletic Trainers at an event, we have you covered so come on over. If any additional services are needed, yes there is an additional cost. Sorry.

Do we take insurance?

Physicians take insurance for in-office procedures and visits beyond your membership benefits. Consult your individual policy for any limitations, co-pays and deductibles. The membership itself is self-pay and is not billed to insurance.

Do we manage medications?

Dr Mogonye has a sports medicine practice and can manage those medications related to illness and injury from activity for Texas residents. Long term medications should be managed by your prescribing physician that follows your underlying condition. But do not forget to let us know about those medications when you call.
